2018 Furlani "Alpino Macerato"
Towering over the alpine city of Trentino, at around 700 meters of altitude, are the tiny parcels of vines tended by Matteo Furlani. Matteo is the current custodian of his family plots high in the Dolomites; he is a fourth generation winemaker.
Alpino Macerato is a sparkling wine obtained from a blend of local aromatic white grapes that come from pergola-grown vineyards. The grapes are harvested in late September and fermented spontaneously. The base wine is fermented in the bottle with the addition of indigenous yeasts only.
