2018 Christian Tschida Peek a Boo No. 8 - Non Tradition Red
Christian Tschida cultivates 10 hectares of old vines in the Neusiedlersee region of Burgenland. His vineyards are planted on sandy gravel, schist, and limestone soils and have been in the family for 4 generations. This area of Burgenland has a unique microclimate due to the moderating influence of the vast Lake Neusiedlersee nearby.
Peek a boo from Christian Tschida is one of the best reds we have seen from Christian. Mostly old vine Cabernet Franc from pure Schist soils it is co-fermented with a few 'Friends' and aged on a few old barrels. iIt is pure and elegant with an exception length telling a wonderful story of the pure soils. The label is an homage to the late Mel Ramos, the American figurative painter.
