2019 Delinquente hell series rosé
This Hell Rose is one that is always a bit of a mish-mash of parcels of wine that in any other situation would never be put together – but through tasting, experimentation and a bit of luck, all sort of work! This wine is made up of Lagrein, Malvasia and Chenin Blanc. Each variety was handpicked and whole bunch pressed to stainless steel tank for fermentation. Once sugar dry, the wine is sent to old French barriques for malo and maturation for about 8 months, before racking, a touch of SO2, and bottling.
You can really feel the individual components pulling in their own direction, whilst still working in harmony – the sweet aromatics of the Malvasia, a creamy red apple skin, grippy edge from the Lagrein and high acid, grassy twang from the Chenin Blanc. Positively gluggable, fun and fresh dry rose!
