2019 Eduardo Torres Acosta Versante Nord Rosso
Originally from the Canary Islands, a young Eduardo Torres Acosta made wines from a small parcel of vines owned by his father. Eduardo decided to Island hop to Sicily and landed an internship with the legendary Arianna Occhipinti at her Vittoria winery. Getting his first taste of great Sicilian wine, Eduardo them moved on to the role as enologist at Andrea Franchetti’s new wave Passopisciaro winery on Mt Etna. Whilst doing his ‘day job’ Eduardo discovered some great parcels of vines which he restored with the first harvest being the 2014 vintage. The parcels are spread across various contrade on the ‘Versante Nord’ (northern face) zone of Mt Etna, picked and transported to Arianna Occhipinti’s winery where Eduardo gets to work.

What: 80% Nerello Mascalese, 20% native varieties
How: Red cherries and spices with that special volcano mineral thing going on. Think Sicilian food, don't shy away from fish, especially the oily ones.
