2020 Marie & Vincent Tricot Petites Fleurs
This delicious Gamay is from Auvergne, a region known for its volcanic soil in the middle of France. Celebrated winemakers Marie & Vincent Tricot are local pioneers, creating precise and elegant natural wines that have drawn international attention to the region.
Their wines are fermented in natural yeast and vinified without sulphur. Theses bright & pure wines are generally lower in alcohol and with a high level of drinkability.
Petites Fleurs shows less of the basalt influence (pink basalt is common in the Auvergne), as the vines are from clay/limestone terroir. Whole cluster, semi-carbonic maceration, with aging in used barrels.
Where: Auvergne, France
How: We enjoyed this with some Mimolette, but you could drink it with most things
