2019 Ruth Lewandowski Boaz
Handpicked on the same day from the Testa vineyard in Mendocino County, dry-farmed organically & planted on sandy loam, alluvium, derived from sedimentary rock. This is truly a unique old vine site. Featuring Carignan ~ 75 year old dry farmed head-trained bush vines & Grenache ~ 100 year old dry farmed head-trained bush vines.
Co-fermented as 100% wholecluster in open top fermenters seeing punchdowns and/or pump overs occur just once daily until dry. The resulting wine was pressed direct to large format old oak where it remained on lees for 12 months. Bottled unfined, unfiltered & preservative free.
