2021 Claus Preisinger 'Fruitloops' Red
Cabernet Franc, Syrah and Blaufränkisch sing harmoniously in this wine so sweetly named Fruitloops. Do not fear - it is by no means sweet, but carries this harmonious array of bright berries- ripe black cherry, raspberry and a touch of spice, all wrapped up in a bright, juicy package. It does almost, kind of, taste like the purple and red fruitloops. This is by no means a simple wine - it is elegant, well made and a firm favourite of ours.
Claus started his 22ha farm in 2000 and has applied biodynamic principles since the beginning. In 2004 he was one of the founding members of the Pannobile group of wine makers. His vineyard work is meticulous and he is deeply in touch with his land. Whenever we can tout Claus, we will!
Aged in Amphora
No added sulphur.
Where: Burgenland, Austria
When: 2021
What: Cabernet Franc, Syrah, Blaufränkisch
How: This would be excellent with some spice. Merguez or Chorizo, some kind of charred eggplant and hummus situation would sure to make your company very keen. But to be honest, we'd also just drink this on it's own - but keep the keen company. Good wine is always best when it's shared.
