2023 Poderi del Paradiso Rosa del Paradiso

This Rosato from Tuscany is a true delight. Made from a grape called Canaiolo you may not have heard of it before but chances are you've most likely had it if you've ever drunk Chianti. Chianti is mostly made from Sangiovese - but you'll find some other indigenous varieties like Canaiolo also included in the blend to add more complexity. Canaiolo often brings perfume and bright red fruit qualities and in this rosato (the Italian name for rosé) is no different! It smells of fresh peonies after a summer downpour, bright red cranberries and a subtle spice and dried herb characters that balance that pretty, fruit forward nose. This is bone dry, with excellent minerality. A rosato for the lovers.

How: We had it on date night with crispy skinned trout and a fennel and orange salad, and a squirt of Kewpie. It was spectacular.
