2024 Garagiste 'Le Stagiaire' Pinot Noir
Barney Flanders is a bit of a legend in Mornington Peninsula.
Miriam has been pouring his Garagiste Wines for well over a decade - back in a restaurant on Bay St, Port Melbourne that was a bit of a wine lover's hub.
The 'Le Stagiaire' wines are a true expression of Mornington - being a blend of their different parcels. This year, it is 44% Balnarring, 40% of his new-ish vines (to him - they're 30 year old vines) in Merricks North, and 10% Red Hill and 6% Merricks Grove.
This is expressive, Mornington Peninsula Pinot. The 'sense of place' is spot on here and is a real delight to us. Elegant red berries are enveloped in an earthy, spicy depth. A svelte, luscious delight with a taught mineral core. It's a real delight.
