2025 CRFT K1 Vineyards Grüner Veltliner

Crft's Grüner Veltliner from their K1 vineyard is at it's best yet. Home to the oldest vines of Grüner in the country (Planted in 2008 - but still!) - this is one of the finest examples you can see in Australia, and at this price we think it's pretty awesome value. 

Grüner is most famously grown in Austria - and fine examples can be compared to the great Rieslings of Germany - and also have amazing ageing potential. Grüner is bright, vibrant and always has a spicy characteristic. CRFT's is a textbook example - Savoury, bright, ever so slightly fleshy with a ginger and white pepper backbone. It's all white nectarine, spicy pear skin, quince nipped in at the waist with it's taught acidity. YUM YUM YUM. 

I like to say a Sommelier's final form is Riesling. Maybe it's actually Grüner.
