2019 Elios Modus Bibendi Grillo Bianco
A gorgeous Sicilian drop. With just a couple of days of skin contact, this wine toes the line between white and orange. This wine is salty, like you're drinking it sat directly beside the beach.
Grillo has generally never been a respected grape historically. Grillo - meaning grasshopper, means it can be difficult to grow. The grapes have a 'hopping' nature meaning the bunches don't ripen all at the same time. That said - we love an underdog grape at ok.wines - and when grown well this is insanely good. Taken from Camporeale vineyards (a brilliant producer in their own right) this is an exceptional example.
Unfined, unfiltered.
