2023 Ménard-Gaborit Accostage Muscadet Sèvre et Maine Sur Lie
Muscadet is a real wine lovers wine. It's mineral, fresh, citrussy and is one of the ultimate aperitif wines of France.
This is one of the best examples we have seen in quite some time. It's a really interesting appellation and you can get really nerdy about it if you want to go down that rabbit hole.
What you might want to know is that Muscadet is right by Nantes- far north and right on the Atlantic ocean. There's lots of limestone and fossilized sea shells, oysters etc. here - and that's what makes this wine so good to start with. Zesty and fresh with oyster shell texture. Sound familiar? Chablis like? Yes! But without the hefty price tag...sounds pretty damn good to me!
